While on ANTM in 2003, Curry had a unique drive to win the competition. She gained the respect of many judges when she showed up to elimination while she was coping with food poisoning. After winning ANTM, Curry believed she would receive a "big" Revlon contract. In Adrianne Curry's interview with www.PR.com[1], she said the contract did not end up being what she expected. "We were told throughout the taping of the show that the winner would have a huge cosmetics deal with Revlon," she said. "Billboards, magazines and all that wonderful fun stuff. What ended up happening was, I found out later on when I was waiting around for this deal that never showed up… I was told that it was just convention work. I never got paid till this day for the work that I did for them. There had been a deal already arranged before they even picked out the contestants of the show that it would not be a big contract, but that it would just be this thing. They weren't even sure if the show would make it on the air, let alone be a smash success and then into this cult phenomenon. To be in season one of America's Next Top Model was fabulous because we were the first, but it was also a great learning experience." Because of her experiences subsequent to winning, Curry has expressed dislike for Tyra Banks on several magazines, including Page Six, The Daily Collegian, Steppin' Out Magazine, and Playboy.
Despite not receiving her Top Model prizes, she continued to pursue her dreams. She is signed in LA, and has modeled for Stuff Magazine, People, Playboy, Maxim, Marie Claire, Lucky, Macy's, and Merit Diamonds. Curry appeared on the cover and in a nude pictorial for Playboy in February 2006 (U.S. Version) where she was paid $1,000,000 for the shoot. Curry's runway shows include Anne Bowen Spring 2005, and Christopher Deane. She has appeared in a commercial for the Sirena Collection (Merit Diamonds) that ran from November 2004 to January 2005. She now models for Famous Stars and Straps and Beverly Hills Choppers. Curry was a co-host on the television game show Ballbreakers. She has also appeared on the UPN sitcom Half & Half.
VH1 reality series and personal life
In early 2005, Curry appeared on VH1's fourth season of The Surreal Life. During the season, Curry and fellow houseguest Christopher Knight began dating, and later moved in with each other. On September 11, 2005, VH1 began airing My Fair Brady, a show that documented their life together and paid her an estimated US$250,000. Knight proposed to Curry on the season finale of the show, which aired on November 6, 2005. The show has been renewed for a second season, which will focus on the couple's wedding preparations. The second season will begin airing on VH1 in June 2006. The couple wed in Curry's hometown of Joliet on May 27, 2006 in a gothic-style wedding. Says Curry of the goth-themed ceremony, "I wanted to go as gothic as I could and as traditional as I could without ruffling anyone's feathers. ... I wanted to have a black dress ... but I knew it would break my grandmother's heart." [1] [2]
On the October 3, 2005 broadcast of the Opie and Anthony XM Satellite Radio show, Curry discussed her bisexuality and revealed numerous past relationships with women. In addition, on the January 17, 2006 broadcast of Howard Stern's Sirius Satellite Radio show, Curry discussed her sexual orientation at length, and she admitted that she previously had a heroin and cocaine addiction.

Quotes
On Tyra Banks:
Page Six, New York Post (February 20, 2005) — "Tyra really didn't help us out and the show didn't put any money into us ... I was supposed to get a Revlon contract, but that fell through ... We trusted Tyra but we've all been screwed over." [3]
Steppin' Out Magazine (October 26, 2005) — "I don't know anyone from my season who is particularly happy with the situation. There were a lot of things told to us that didn't show up on camera. Like, telling us if you win you're going to be a millionaire. That kind of stuff. It's called reality TV manipulation. Now that I'm a vet I understand. But when you're some lowly waitress from Joliet, Illinois, and Hollywood is filling your head with promises of scripts and gold you buy into it pretty quickly. I'm really glad they worked so hard for me. It's sad that I didn't notice. But I'm glad they tried. The show definitely got my foot in the door. But if you're going to deliver something, say what it is. Don't sugar coat it. Don't talk it up to something it's not. Tell me the truth. I'm a very straightforward, honest person. I'm sure you can tell that by now. I expect the same from others." [4]
Playboy (February 2006) — "I wrote [Banks] an ignorant letter after the show was over, which I regret because it was something very immature. It went something like, 'I just spent my last dollar. Fuck you!'" But Adrianne says she learned plenty from the experience. "It was a wake-up call," she says. "I realized people will lie and walk all over you for self-gain if you're not careful."
